Our team is well-educated, recognized by the prominent professional accrediting associations, and has years of combined experience. What separates us from the traditional practice is our emotional commitment. We wear our hearts on our sleeves. We laugh out loud at absurdity, and we aren't afraid to try new things, to challenge outdated thinking and parochial concerns.
Meet the People Who Will Meet Your Needs:
Ed Heben, CPA/ABV/CFF, CVA, AEP, CMEA
Ed runs the show, and with good reason. He has over thirty-five years of public accounting experience. The alphabet soup of credentials attests to his astonishingly broad level of expertise, particularly in business valuations, financial forensics and taxation. A graduate of Pace University, Ed put up a shingle some 35-years ago, and many of his original clients are still with him today, which speaks to decades of service to a loyal client base.
Ed's peers think he's pretty good as well. He has served as Board member and officer of various accounting trade group associations, and currently serves as the President of the New York State Chapter of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
For almost five years, Ed was a Business Valuations, Financial Forensics, and Litigation Support Partner at Citrin Cooperman, so he is as comfortable working with a "mom and pop" business as he is with a major sized company.
Ed also gives back to his community. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for Calvary Hospital for over ten years. He also serves as treasurer and board member for the Flexitoon Puppet Theatre, a not-for-profit family entertainment organization.
Ed is a professional with the ability to achieve a comprehensive grasp on the entity being valued, and the scope of the environment in which it operates. This is where experience and professional judgment makes the difference.
Ed is married, with two grown sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law, and four grandsons. Ed lives with his wife Bette, and "her" cat in Westchester County, NY. Ed is an avid golfer and splits his time between the Northeast and sunny Florida.
Nurys Santos, MS, CPA, CFE, CVA
Nurys is a graduate of the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena, the top accounting school in the Dominican Republic. In addition, she holds a Master’s in Accounting (MS) from Lehman College, the CPA credential in New York, a CFE designation, and has successfully achieved her CVA credential. Clients, and those of us who have the privilege to work with her daily appreciate her unflagging energy, her ready smile, her dedication to her work, and to client satisfaction.
Nurys lives in Westchester County, NY with her husband and their three children. What little time she has to spare is enjoyed watching her children play soccer and baseball.
Denise Zablow, Administration
Denise is the first voice heard by most of our clients. Having worked as an administrative assistant most of her adult life, she is the calm and measured presence on the telephone, and in person who meets and greets our clientele. Denise has worked for several large legal firms in New York City. She loved the work, the intense pressure, working with partners and the client interaction.
When her twin daughters were born, Denise needed the flexibility of a smaller office, so she gave up the commute into the City to work at a Westchester medical practice. The doctor's retirement became our windfall, and Denise came to work for us.
Her twin daughters are grown now, and both recently passed the CPA exam. Denise currently lives in northern Westchester, NY.

After graduation from Iona College, Joe was set to start his accounting career however, he encountered a slight detour on his way to becoming a CPA. Joe was sworn in as a Firefighter with the Yonkers Fire Department. Fast forward 25 years, and after many emergency calls, marriage, 3 children, and attaining the rank of Lieutenant, and pending retirement from the Fire Department, Joe is ready for a second career, and he is back on the road to becoming a CPA under the guidance of Ed Heben who offers many years of experience in accounting, tax, and business valuations, to help attain his goal.
When not running between the Fire House and our Thornwood office, Joe and his wife are busy raising their 3 children.
